CHARACTER
Character Name: Sam Giddings
Age: 20
Species: Human
Canon: UNTIL DAWN
Canon Point: Post-Perfect Ending
Character Info: http://until-dawn.wikia.com/wiki/Sam
Personality: Let no one say Sam is a coward, because she isn't. For being five foot of nothing, she's braver than one might expect and while she may lean on others for support during a test of survival, she's still in her own right able to make it on her own in a tough situation. Facing off with the wendigos for example, she was terrified but she didn't allow that fear to bully her into a corner and take away her right to breathe. She even went back to grab the lift key from Josh in the mines because she's willing to face down whatever it is to survive and save her loved ones, no matter the cost. She is also resourceful, able to look around her surroundings when in danger or any other time and find a solution.

Sam loves and cares deeply for those connected to her emotionally, be it friend or family. She is warm toward them, loving, willing to lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on. She is something of a bleeding heart in that regard, as she will cry with you if your pain is too great. She, however, isn't a pushover and won't allow herself to be. She has never liked being a stepping stone, even when she was little. Though she has been called a pacifist.

Being that she is loving, she loves domestic and wild life animals, which includes nature. She feels more at peace with these things more than anything. Anyone harming an animal will be met with someone who Is an angry sprite, as she is normally calm and level headed, she's known to go off the deep end in the face of animal abuse. Sometimes, even watching someone throw a cigarette butt in the forest. Yeah, a little overboard on the last one but she can't help it. She wants to be a conservationist, so that should tell you as much.

Sam has some sass in her, and she does love to laugh but she has a hard time being funny. It's more awkward on her end, getting turn of phrases wrong or messing up movie lines she remembers. Basically, she tries to be funny but it always falls short, so most of the time she leaves it to the funny people.

She is something of a health nut, she has been exercising and keeping in shape since she was in her pre-teens. It makes sense that she's played a lot of sports and kept active over the years, including keeping to a vegan diet besides the fact that she doesn't want to harm animals. She advocates exercise and good health to others, wanting to see the best for them in the long run. She doesn't like seeing those who are overweight struggle with everyday life or those who are sick and capable of exercising, wasting away without proper health benefits when they could improve their quality of life.

Abilities: Rock Climbing - Sam has been rock climbing since she was old enough to understand what it is. Her mother and father have always been into the natural world at large, so by the time she was eight, she was climbing rock walls. She's pretty damn good at it, she can climb any rough terrian, and knows how to get over the obstacle even if it takes her a moment to figure it out. She's also climbed some mountains but nothing major, they've been practice for her dream of climbing Mount Everest.

Running - She was on the track team in highschool, she was good enough to get second and third place pins and trophies, rarely did she get first place. Despite her short legs, she strives to run the fastest, the hardest in any given situation, especially dangerous ones. She's also always felt like she's got something to prove with how tiny she is.

Naturally Athletic - Besides being a runner in middle school and highschool, she has played other sports as well, even not on school teams. She's always had an affinity for sports and played softball when she was a lot younger. She also played hockey in middle school for awhile, until she got a dislocated shoulder and her mom made her quit. She even enjoys watching baseball and basketball games.

Bond with animals - Since she was little, Sam has always had this natural relationship with wildlife and animal in general. They seem to take a liking to her instantly and she takes a liking to them instantly as well, even the rabid ones. I wouldn't call her a disney princess in this regard, but don't be surprised if a wild bird lands on her shoulder to say hello or a squirrel eats out of the palm of her hand. She's also a vegan.

Survival Skills - Being that she's gone camping plenty in her life, she's learned the necessary survival skills. She knows how to start a fire without a lighter, or how to get back to camp in the dark. What berries are good to eat. Considering she survived on the mountain, it goes without saying that she's naturally brave as well, willing to do anything to get through.

CARNIVAL

Ideal Jobs: Animal Keeper
Relevant Experience: Has worked at an animal sanctuary and no kill shelter
Reason for Joining: Her father is a gambling addict, he owed 20,000 dollars to a loan shark and would have ended up dead, if not for the fact that Sam bargained for the money, so both her parents would have ended up dead.

[THIRD PERSON SAMPLE]
Seven months. Seven months since that night on Mt. Washington. All her friends had been through a lot since then. Some of it okay, some of it not so pretty. She especially was still coping with the aftermath, sometimes she woke up from nightmares, dreams where one of those gnarly, ugly things was breathing in her face, ready to crush her head into a pulp. Other times it was the feeling of isolation, running from the psycho that turned out to be Josh. She should have seen it coming, he put on a show like he was okay but she knew how close he had been to the twins. He was their big brother and older siblings usually felt responsible for the littler ones.

She still missed Josh. Despite what he did, he had been one of her closest friends. She had felt a pull toward him, after Hannah's death. They had been close before then, but after... it just seemed natural they lean on each other for support. Now she was okay with Hannah being gone, even though her end had been brutal but with Josh gone, she still felt like she was grieving sometimes. Grief was such a strange thing though because it hadn't hit her until a month later.

She takes a deep breath, climbing up the rock wall. Her hand grasps for a smooth stone and she pushes herself in one smooth motion with a slight grunt. Her foot catches another rock and she moves up even further. She nearly falls down on the next fly, and catches herself quickly before falling off.

“Come on, Sam! You got this!,” her friend Marybeth yelled from below.

“I sure as heck hope so because my hands are getting sweaty,” She told her as she hung there for a moment, wiping her hands off on shirt, using more chalk dust and jumping up again.

“What are you gonna do when we climb Mount Everest? Fall to your death?,” Marybeth joked, hands on her shapely hips as Sam glanced down.

“Yep, and straight down into the pits of hell, where Satan and his merry band of demons will roast me alive on a spit forever,” Sam retorted, as she finally made it to the top and touched the base.

“That doesn't sound fun but knowing you, you'd probably get off on it,” Marybeth surmised.

“Yeah, because my kinks list include fire and brimstone.” Sam came down slowly, as thoughts of her friends entered her head. Marybeth was fun but she missed everyone. They all hadn't hung out together since that night and she really felt like they needed each other right now. At least she felt that way. She did a little audible sigh to herself. Her college semester was out in a month, which meant she would be going on a conservation expedition for the next two months. She really wanted to just...

Right. They were all coping in their own way. She could deal. Dealing is what Sam does best. She survived that night. She could survive on her own too.

She reached the bottom, jumping up a little as her feet touched ground. “Your go, Mary Mary quite contrary. “

“You know I got this shit,” her friend said as she got herself ready and started climbing.

Sam stayed below her, watching as she went up. She'd round everyone up this weekend. Maybe, they could all go mini golf or just have a low key get together with some alcohol. Not that she'd actually drink, because she didn't like to, too often but the others probably would. It's what the young people do. You know, the cool ones anyway.
